Campos Racing driver Rio Haryanto claimed his third GP2 sprint-race win of the season at Silverstone.

Haryanto held the lead into the first corner from pole position, which he picked up thanks to penalties for Arthur Pic and Oliver Rowland on Saturday, and quickly set about building a gap to Raffaele Marciello in second.

He was able to do this for the entirety of the race to cross the line 1.925s clear of the Italian.

Fast starting Pierre Gasly rounded out the podium in third and, like Marciello ahead, he couldn’t close the gap to the car in front.

Racing Engineering driver Alexander Rossi finished fourth despite picking up a five-second penalty for exceeding tack limits at Copse as he jostled with Alex Lynn, who finished sixth.

Nick Yelloly finished fifth following an awful start which left the Brit down in sixth at the end of the opening lap.

The Hilmer Motorsport driver fought hard to reclaim places and was able to complete his recovery by passing Lynn and Sergey Sirotkin in the closing stages.

GP2 debutant Oliver Rowland finished in an impressive seventh place after passing Sirotkin towards the end of the race.

The Formula Renault 3.5 championship leader made his lunge down the inside of Sirotkin stick on the last lap to ensure he picked up points on his opening GP2 weekend.

Championship leader Stoffel Vandoorne finished down in an unusually low ninth place to complete his worst points haul this season while Jordan King, who came up from 22nd on the grid, rounded out the top 10.
